Something that has been asked is what we are about. The 2600 magazine is more of a topical anchor which playfully embodies who we are. But I would agree that the magazine is a hot mess and its hard to distill that message down into a good one liner answer.
In a nutshell this is what this meeting stands for:
Mission:
To empower and educate individuals about the importance of information freedom, ethical hacking, and responsible use of technology.
Vision:
We envision the world where information is freely accessible, and technology is used to enhance human potential and protect individual rights.
This is just a place where any one can stop by and share their thoughts on those matters. That being said violent rhetoric or personal insults or behavior that disrupts this mission or does not observe the policies set by our venue isn't welcome. This is a public forum and it is our intent to make this a chill and respectful place to talk and share our stories.
